Extension Installation Guide

ugiAuth is a Chromium-based browser extension. Follow the steps below to install it on Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, and other compatible browsers.

Before you install

A few requirements ensure the extension works smoothly.

Supported browsers: Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave, Opera, Opera GX, Vivaldi, Arc, and other Chromium-based browsers. Firefox and Safari are not supported. We recommend using an up-to-date browser version.

Click the extension icon in the browser toolbar and enable «Pin». This gives you one-click access.

2

Add your first account

Click the extension icon, use «Add QR» to scan a verification QR code, or enter details manually.

3

Sync with the web panel

Optional: register from the extension; your codes will also appear in the web panel and be accessible from any device.

Common issues

I get «Package is invalid» or «CRX_REQUIRED_PROOF_MISSING»

Chrome and Edge may block non-store .crx files. Rename the file to .zip, extract the archive, then on the extensions page use «Load unpacked» and select the extracted folder.

The extension icon does not appear

Make sure ugiAuth is enabled on the extensions page. Click the puzzle icon in the toolbar and pin ugiAuth.

The extension does not update after installation

Manual installs do not auto-update. When a new version is released, download and install again from this page. Store installs update automatically.

QR code scanning does not work

QR scanning only works on the active tab. Open the service's 2FA setup page, click «Add QR» in the extension, and scan the code on the page. Alternatively, enter the secret key manually.

About Firefox and Safari

ugiAuth is a Manifest V3 Chromium extension; it is not compatible with Firefox (.xpi) or Safari. You can use the web panel on those browsers, or switch to a Chromium-based browser.
